REJUVE NAD™ : A plant-based cellular culture (INCI is HELIANTHUS ANNUUS (SUNFLOWER) SPROUT EXTRACT). This cellular culture increases de levels of NAD+ (= nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide): a co-enzyme often referred to as a “longevity molecule” which is central to cellular metabolism and acts as a carrier at the mitochondrial level. Naturally present in young skin, this co-enzyme can remove or add metabolites to or from proteins, namely from sirtuins, the chief proteins responsible for DNA repair. NMN is the building block that assists in creating NAD+; while NMN is very popular as a food supplement, the topical use of NMN in skincare has many limitations and promoting directly the NAD+ pathway shows a much higher efficacy.
